Making a Website on Neocities.org
Greetings internet citizens.
I'm just going straight to the point. A friend from college (where I study graphic and web design) recommended that I check out Neocities.org. So I decided to make a free account and try building a simple website with files and hosting provided by neocities.
Below are screenshots of the default HTML markup and the default website look.
Neocities provides a great HTML file with examples of basic tags for beginners. They also give you the option to either edit your website files with their built-in editor, or download your files to open within a desktop code editing application. I decided to download the files for this site to my computer so I could edit them within VSCode.
Writing HTML and CSS in these files feels just the same as in my web design class. I have no problems customizing my website with my current skillset. Here's a fun fact: I made the background image myself in Adobe Illustrator! I think it looks very cool as a repeating pattern, don't you think?
Well, I think that is all I have to say, BUT before you go, click the button below!
